When I was in Hawaii a couple of weeks ago I met some women who I had prayed for the year before to conceive children. I was brought to tears with every conversation because these women were now pregnant. Some were still holding onto the promise with joy believing for their miracle story of breakthrough.
As I meditated and thought back over these beautiful encounters, I was overwhelmed again at Gods absolute goodness and faithfulness through every season, barren or pregnant with promises (or babies)… He is ALWAYS faithful.

It reminded me of Isaiah 54…

Isaiah 54:1-5 NIV

“Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child;burst into song, shout for joy,you who were never in labor;because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,”says the Lord.

2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back;lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.

4 “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.

5 For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name—the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.

God asks us to SING!!! Sing before the breakthrough… Sing even if you never get the breakthrough… Just SING! As we sing we invite and bring the presence of God into our situation, barren or full and bursting with new life! God is faithful no matter the circumstance!

I know there have been seasons where the only thing that got me through was worship… Focusing on the absolute goodness of God when the enemy desperately wanted my eyes fixed on the pain and the problem. Instead, I chose to sing. I keep choosing to sing.

No matter what, stretch, make room for more… Yes, more. More room for those around you that need family… God will give you children you never thought would be yours. And they will dispossess nations and change cities, because you chose to make room in your life for the one.

Don’t let fear rule your life, keeping you from stepping out into the dreams that God has for you. Maybe the dream hasn’t come in the package you thought it would. Ask God for new eyes, new ears to hear, a tender heart towards the plan and blueprint He has now given you.

He will cover you in the shadow of His wings… He will not put you to shame. He will vindicate you, He will bless you greatly…

Just sing… And don’t stop.

My daughter never stops singing. There is always a song in her heart, whether it’s about how the bath water is coming out of the spout, or the food she is eating (or I wish she would eat and stop singing even just for a second), or the way she fixes her bed that morning, or her favorite song from “Frozen” that day. She just sings… It’s innate in her to worship, to burst forth in song. Her purity of heart teaches me something… That we are all called to be childlike and not let the thrashes from the seasons of life take us down or out. Sing.

None of us are called to a barren life. No, not one of us, and I’m not talking about physical pregnancy.  Don’t be like Michal who despised the passion her husband King David operated in to bring the presence of God back into his household. Get out of your ‘negative, God can’t do this, it’s to hard, I’ll look like a fool’ way of thinking and SING! DANCE! LOOK LIKE A FOOL! Barreness will leave you, and you will be FILLED with the presence of God.

Sing… Yes Sing! Before the miracle comes and even if it never does. Sing because God is good, and He is worthy of ALL of our praise!

Just Sing.
