Hi, my name is Andi and I am a believer who is recovering from codependency.
My Celebrate Recovery Step Study Group has been a lifeline for me.
Over the years, I have learned the hard way, that not everyone gets to have my heart. I have been “vulnerable with the many” instead of just a few trusted, safe people.
As my friend Irene Rollins says, “𝘉𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘷𝘶𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘸.”
In my recovery journey from codependency, my Step Study women have truly shown up for me, not to fix me, but to come alongside and support me, and I for them.

Well, for me it’s:
– Feeling responsible for the well-being, emotions and actions of others.
– Going to extremes to make sure everyone else is happy/okay to the detriment of my own peace and wellbeing.
– Saying “yes” when I actually want to say “no”.
– A need to be needed.
– Trying to control the behavior of others.
I mean, these are just a few ways codependency can manifest and there are a plethora of great books out there to understand it more and be set free from it. Here’s what I know; the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy our lives but Christ has comes to bring life and life abundantly.
(“𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘺; 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭.” 𝘑𝘰𝘩𝘯 10:10)
Jesus has come to recover 𝙖𝙡𝙡 of the losses, and I am in recovery with Him daily – my safest place – as I choose to continually submit my whole life to Him.
